Super Power - India by the.....years

Hi,

To start with, we are presently just behind with china in terms of fastest growing economy in the world. Our GDP is presently 8% compared to China’s.

India can become the superpower of the world in a matter of 15-20 years if we can elect a good leader to lead us and rule us. It is the leadership of the country that moves the country forward or backward. Former Indian President Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam in his famous book written in 1998, envisions that India can become a developed country by 2020. The evils that we see in India today like corruption, public sector inefficiency, religious tensions, lack of development, poverty, illiteracy, poor infrastructure, and shortages are caused by corrupt leaderships that place their interests over the interests of the Nation. Corruption is the root causes of India’s backwardness. The damage caused by corruption on the country’s economy and progress is unimaginable.

India has all the human and material resources that are required to become a superpower; it is only a question of management. The natural ingredients necessary to become a superpower are: 1. adequate geographical size, 2. adequate population, having a good level of natural intelligence, 3. Reasonable level of natural resources, 4. Will of the population to be superior.

India could overtake China as the world’s fastest growing economy in the long run according to some experts, says a study by the National Intelligence Council (NIC), the think tank of all the intelligence agencies of the US, including the CIA.

“India lags economically behind China, according to most measures such as overall GDP, foreign investment. In recent years, India’s growth has lagged China’s by about 20 per cent.

Nevertheless, some experts believe that India might overtake China as the fastest growing economy in the world,” the study says. India, says the NIC, has several factors working for it though it also highlights weaknesses, such as increase in its working age population well into the 2020s, whereas, due to one-child policy, China’s will diminish and age rapidly.

India has well-entrenched democratic institutions, making it somewhat less vulnerable to political instability, whereas China faces the continuous challenge of reconciling an increasingly urban and middle-class population with an essentially authoritarian political system.

If we see the growth in the last 10 years in our country we cannot deny the fact that we cannot be superpowers. The growth is stupendous. What should we speak of? IT, retail, finance, maufacturing, aviation, pharma, are all in a bullish mood. It’s amazing to know that IT which has created job for millions jus contributes 3% of GDP signifying that there is still lot of scope for development.

India has become a hot spot destination for the foreign investors. No longer is the convervitsm feeling there in our country. We are open to FDIs and privatization. We saw what FDIs can do in the telecom sector. We are getting better technologically day by day. In times disaster we handled the situation with great maturity. We didn’t even take help form Us during Tsunami but instead helped neighboring countries like Sri Lanka and what happened to the superpower country USA Mr. George bush. There was no relief for the people of US for many days, and the government did no greet job to rescue people. In fact all other countries donated money for rehabilitation for the U.S. affected areas.

Only on the basis of bad infrastructure, poverty unemployment, illiteracy we say that we cannot be superpowers than I feel its sheer pessimism. These are the areas which are continuously improving in our country as our government id thinking on these issues. Let’s be a proud Indian and support our country instead of brooding over figures which we can phase out in a matter of few years from here.
