Why Men and Women Cheat on Each Other
There may be many reasons why men and women cheat on each other. It is a sad fact that many relationships in modern society break up because one or other partner has been unfaithful.
So what are the main reasons why one partner cheats on another?
- Their emotional needs are not met
one or both partners feel they are isolated or lonely within the relationship. They turn to someone outside for a sense of caring and being wanted.
- Their Physical needs are not met
one or both feel that their physical needs are not (or no longer being) met within the relationship. They then turn to someone or more than one person outside the relationship to meet their physical needs.
- Conflict within the relationship
maybe on-going conflict or maybe a single dramatic incident. Not just physical conflict but financial, career pressure or simply different values, could each lead to conflict within the relationship.
- Attention seeking
one person may feel that the ’spark’ has gone from their relationship. Their life has become one long routine. perhaps their time and efforts are simply being devoted to the kids, to work, to house work. Possibly a mid-life crisis has hit which leads one person to try to recapture their youth and a life of excitement.
- Opportunity
it may be the case that one person feels that they are entitled to have relationships outside of the marriage. Possibly because that is what they saw their parent(s) doing or maybe through religious or other beliefs.
- To end a relationship
quite simply, one person may seek cheat in a relationship in order to end it. Their infidelity is perhaps a cry of help or just an excuse to finish a relationship they feel is no longer working.
