Office Furniture Tips

office furnitureClients receive their first impression of you and your business within the first few minutes of stepping into your office.

It is critical to make a good impression from the moment your clients step through your door until the moment they leave. It’s important to be professional while at the same time making anyone who comes into your office comfortable.

  • The reception area of your office should have a receptionist’s desk facing the main entry so that the receptionist can greet people as they come through the door. She or he should be ready to greet your guests immediately and lead them to a seating area where they can wait until the receptionist calls you out for your meeting.
  • Simple, comfortable furniture is great for the seating area. A couch and a couple of chairs should be enough.
  • A coffee table should be in the seating area, as many people will have briefcases or presentational materials. Whether the rest of your office is arranged in cubicle style or another design, the office should present a sense of continuity.
  • It should not be a random mix of styles and colors. The most effective office presentation comes from having a theme.
  • You can choose any theme for your office that you like, but a theme complementing the type of business that you have is best.
  • Choose the theme first and then paint the walls accordingly. Giving your walls some color will help you get rid of the feeling that you’re trapped in a big white box. Your employees will respond better and be more productive in a colorful environment.
  • Choose simple furniture that goes well with the color you have chosen for the walls.
  • The executive offices should be coordinated with the theme of the rest of the office and complement the space your guest has to go though to get to your office.
