How to Make Money From Your Hobbies
 Yes, now there is no need to worry about spending too much time on your hobby. Not only can you enjoy yourself at leisure but with a little planning you could make a handy buck too! Your hobby could be just about anything…from web designing to stamp or coin collecting to building scaled down models of cars/planes or even knitting or gardening. Having said that, don’t expect to fill your coffers just following your hobby. There is an odd chance you could make it big, but in case you don’t, what’s the harm getting paid for something you love doing anyway! |

Hobbies don’t really make you rich. Though you could make some handy ‘expense money’, a hobby will seldom allow you enough leeway to take it up full time. What you could easily manage is to ensure that your hobby is self-sustaining. You could keep the hobby current; invest some money in it, without spending an additional rupee.
Sometimes, while scaling up your hobby into a business, you lose that very ‘kick’ that once got you started. When you reach such a situation then no amount of money makes it worthwhile.

Indeed you are. If you are passionate about your hobby, there will be facets to your skills that probably no one else is equipped with. It’s just that over time, you have come to take these skills for granted and don’t think too much of them now.
Work on those ‘quirks’ that make you different from the rest of the people around you. It is these quirks that are rare to find, and make what you have to offer unique.

If your cousin is wondering how to better spend his summer vacations, ask her/him if s/he will like to learn the guitar from you. Let your friends know that you have a small hobby business. Chances are they will be the best word-of-mouth publicity you can get. |

Once you start making money from your hobby, you will spend a lot of your time teaching people your hobby. And since they will know lesser than you, you might not be adding to your skillsets.
Like all other professions, you have to guard against complacency even in your hobby. You cannot let yourself stagnate, or you might end up losing interest altogether. As long as you keep bettering yourself, you will get newer students who are not novices, but are coming to you for expert tips.
