Lipstick Tips

Many renowned beauticians have published some helpful tips and tricks for using different lipsticks, of which some most popular are appended below.

  • When the lipstick is nearing over in the tube, scrap the tube and take out the remnants with the help of cotton buds or sticks and mix it with Vaseline or lip gloss in the lipstick palette. It could be applied by using lip brush when required.
  • The lipstick should be tested on the fingertips and not on lips directly as it may turn unhygienic.
  • Before applying lipstick, using liner may help lasting lipstick longer. However in case of light shaded lipstick, basic liner should be neutral which gives rich look to the lipstick.
  • While using deep shaded or darker lipstick, the shade of liner should equally match but in case of lighter shaded lipstick, the liner too should correspondingly be lighter.
  • The most ideal trick for keeping of the lipstick from the teeth is after applying the lipstick; the index finger should be popped into your mouth and pulled out. This will make all the excess lipstick come of through your finger rather than sticking to your teeth.
  • If needed the blush can work as lipstick but it is not recommended at all.
  • Before applying the lipstick the liner should ideally be used as base as it gives distinct shape and gloss to the lips.
  • Ideally the lipstick should be according to the age such as women over 50 should go for creamy lipstick instead of glossy or matte finish lipsticks.
  • Instead of throwing away the disliking colored lipsticks they should be blended to form the unique new shade which could be used both as lipstick or liner.
  • The lip gloss should be applied in the middle of bottom lips to add rich lip looks
  • It is known that the lip gloss does not wear-off faster, but it is suggested that the liner should be applied as the base before lip gloss making it stick to lips better.
  • In case the lip stick breaks apart, take the broken piece out of the tube and simply heat it with the help of a match stick until the stick starts melting. Then just put it back in the tube and keep it uncapped in the fridge for sometimes, it will glue itself.
  • Most important tip is that avoid using orange, brown or coral shaded lipsticks as they usually make the teeth appear yellowish.
