A position of responsibility is meant to be handled with responsibility a not frivolously. Imagine the CMD of a highly reputed company inducting someone into his company. Because he got paid a hefty sum; and no one will be able to do a thing about this - why? Because we LEGALISED Corruption!! Imagine a community full of thugs and swindlers- the Harshad Mehta’s of the world would be walking freely on the streets. The bofors , St Kitts Case , the recent episode involving Hamden Exports would become everyday phenomenon.

It is most important to correct the system. Most people are tempted to be corrupt because they don’t have the means to meet their ends. Make jobs more remunerative - try and do away with unnecessary exploitation. More imps. The big brother nations such as America, the UN , etc. should stop providing nations such as Ethiopia huge amounts as aid . This is because this money only goes to enrich the coffers of a few corrupt politicians and people holding positions of power in such countries. People become lazy and used to being fed by others and as a consequence the per hectare agro productivity of a nation like Ethiopia today is lower than what it was when the same nation was poorer.
 

It’s important for people to realize that with two hand and legs and a brain we can achieve a lot in life if we are ready to use them. What we need is a little nourishment for our mind and body which should be provided to the underprivileged by ensuring that the same actually reaches the needy and not by handing them over to the power hungry expecting them to go around doing the job of good Samaritans. If the population of a country are a contended lot corruption will automatically become an obsolete word and we will not be using it as often as I have used it hear in this post of mine. As for the remaining few who are inveterate liars and stealers - those who can’t think straight in spite of everything we haven’t built these huge prisons in India for nothing.
