Advertising
Advertising is the promotion of goods, services, companies and ideas without which no product or service can be successful. It’s the ads which make an impact on us and compels us to go and buy a product.
And this is the reason that the companies are taking advantage and fooling people nowadays. For E.g. of ‘SALE’ by comparing a sale price to a regular price for the same product, advertisers can inflate the “regular” price in order to create the impression that the sale price is very low. The intent is to mislead consumers into thinking that they are saving money by purchasing the “on-sale” item or service and another Strategy of ‘Buy 1 get 1 free’.
They increase the price of a product to three times its original price and then offering another free with that. In other cases the free product is of lower quality than the originally purchased item.
Actors, cricketers and children are hired to promote products when the fact will be that they never may have used the product.
So isn’t all of them a means of false advertising.
But the fact remains there is a cold war between the product manufacturers and their competitors which compels them to bring out schemes but they all should not forget that it’s the consumers who suffer.
And consumers should not blindly follow what they are being shown because I believe every one of us would have fallen into the trap at least once so one should not repeat our mistakes.
