Lipstick Tips

Many renowned beauticians have published some helpful tips and tricks for using different lipsticks, of which some most popular are appended below.

  • When the lipstick is nearing over in the tube, scrap the tube and take out the remnants with the help of cotton buds or sticks and mix it with Vaseline or lip gloss in the lipstick palette. It could be applied by using lip brush when required.
  • The lipstick should be tested on the fingertips and not on lips directly as it may turn unhygienic.
  • Before applying lipstick, using liner may help lasting lipstick longer. However in case of light shaded lipstick, basic liner should be neutral which gives rich look to the lipstick.
  • While using deep shaded or darker lipstick, the shade of liner should equally match but in case of lighter shaded lipstick, the liner too should correspondingly be lighter.
  • The most ideal trick for keeping of the lipstick from the teeth is after applying the lipstick; the index finger should be popped into your mouth and pulled out. This will make all the excess lipstick come of through your finger rather than sticking to your teeth.
  • If needed the blush can work as lipstick but it is not recommended at all.
  • Before applying the lipstick the liner should ideally be used as base as it gives distinct shape and gloss to the lips.
  • Ideally the lipstick should be according to the age such as women over 50 should go for creamy lipstick instead of glossy or matte finish lipsticks.
  • Instead of throwing away the disliking colored lipsticks they should be blended to form the unique new shade which could be used both as lipstick or liner.
  • The lip gloss should be applied in the middle of bottom lips to add rich lip looks
  • It is known that the lip gloss does not wear-off faster, but it is suggested that the liner should be applied as the base before lip gloss making it stick to lips better.
  • In case the lip stick breaks apart, take the broken piece out of the tube and simply heat it with the help of a match stick until the stick starts melting. Then just put it back in the tube and keep it uncapped in the fridge for sometimes, it will glue itself.
  • Most important tip is that avoid using orange, brown or coral shaded lipsticks as they usually make the teeth appear yellowish.

Shaving Tips For Men

shaving tipsThe major regret of being a man, to every man, is his stubble. And the trouble he has to go through shaving it. It has all the potential to give you the rightly called ‘Morning Blues’. Here are some simple shaving tips that will help make your shaving experience a pleasurable one:

Firstly, select your razor wisely. There are different types of razors available. Select one that best suits your needs and type of hair growth.

  • Keep your face clean and dirt free. Cleanse it before shaving. This helps open the pores before the shave and provides a much closer shave.
  • Don’t forget to wet your beard thoroughly. It helps by softening the hair and making for the razor to cut it easily. If you are using mechanical razors, prefer shaving after the shower.
  • Use warm water if possible. It is much more soothing and helps to open up the pores. You may also get a quick face massage which will help in softening the beard.
  • Selecting the right type of shaving cream is also a very important step. There are various types of creams and gels also available in the market. There are also foams that help a lot. Depending on what suits your skin the best, make your choice.
  • Apply a generous amount of cream. Use a foaming brush. It helps the cream to go between the hairs and soothe the skin. Also, it facilitates even application of the cream.
  • When shaving, prefer to use short strokes with the grain (with the grain means in the direction of the hair growth).
  • Also, don’t keep on shaving over a part that has already been shaven. It will rub your skin and cause skin irritation. It may also cause redness or rashes. Worse, you may get cut.
  • After you are done shaving, wash your face off any excess cream. It will clear your face of soap.
  • Use a good moisturizer after shaving.
  • Avoid an after-shave with alcohol content. Alcohol causes skin to loose moisture.
  • If possible, use Aloe-Vera over the skin. It is an excellent skin revitalizer.

Tips For a Happy Marriage

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

happy marrige tipsThere are many recipes for creating a happy marriage. Through our work with couples in our relationship coaching practice, we’ve discovered a few “truths” that seem to be universal and what we call “our” recipe for a happy marriage.

Here are 6 simple suggestions to help you create your recipe for a happy marriage:

1. If you want to keep your marriage alive and growing, you have to really want to keep it that way. You have to decide that the marriage is important in your life and give it the time and attention it needs. As we’ve said before, it doesn’t matter what you say or intend about your marriage. Your actions are what speak the loudest.

Tip: Look at your actions in your marriage and make sure that they are congruent with what you say your intentions are. Are you spending enough time and energy on the relationship?

2. Focus on what you like and love about the person instead of what you don’t like or gets on your nerves. We truly do get more of what we focus on. If you want to prevent infidelity, flirting with others outside the relationship, affairs, and even divorce and a relationship breakup, begin focusing on the positive in your relationship and not the negative.

Tip: Stop when you start to criticize your spouse, with words or even in your mind. Turn your thinking to what you like about them and begin to see how your marriage gets better.

3. Kindness matters in marriages, so be kind. Very often, people in relationships treat the people closest to them worse than they treat acquaintances or even total strangers. Several years ago we attended a presentation by Wayne Dyer and in it, he told us that if you are choosing whether to be “right” or to be kind, always choose kindness. We think that’s great advice.

Tip: This week, do something kind for your spouse that you wouldn’t normally do and without expectation of anything in return.

4. Show appreciation for your spouse and what they mean to you.You may be thinking that you need to say “thank you” and just haven’t taken the time or energy to do it. We urge you to make a habit of expressing appreciation. If you do, we think you’ll find your marriage to be filled with much more happiness and joy.

Tip: Look at what your spouse does for you or what they mean to you and say a word of appreciation about it to them. It might be something as simple as “I like your smile” or “Thank you for cooking dinner last night.”

5. Ask for what you want. Most people expect the people who are in relationship with them to be mind readers. If you’re expecting others to be psychics, you’re in for a painful ride if you’re in relationship with them. If you want your needs to be met, you have to tell people what these needs are. You also have to tell them in a way that they can hear them. Sometimes this takes courage, but we know that when you clearly ask for what you want, you bypass assumptions, resentments and miscommunications.

Tip: What desire have you been putting off communicating with your spouse? Whether it’s a desire to have more “dates” alone, more romance, or more help around the house, the only way you’ll get any of these things is to ask.

6. Listen without judging or getting defensive. Be open to the possibility that someone else’s opinion or way of doing things may be just as valid or important as yours. Just because their way is different, doesn’t make them or you wrong. If you’re constantly judging, being defensive and building walls, you’re not open to possibilities and to the love that is possible between two people.

Tip: Choose something about your spouse that always makes you angry or you always judge them for saying or doing it. During one conversation, just listen to him/her without judging them with words or even in your mind. What did you discover?

This free love advice in the form of a recipe for creating a happy marriage are not the only ones that help keep a marriage alive and growing but this is a good place to start.

  • For being fresh in the mornings it is advised to use night creams which contain alpha hydroxyl acids in them. Night creams are considered to be oilier than the regular moisturizers used and it works longer at the night hours.
  • For the inner glow of skin different nutrients including Vitamin A, Vitamin B and Vitamin E are to be taken in the diet.
  • The moisture in the skin could be regained by eating leafy vegetables.
  • The amount of water taken in should be more which helps the body to have enough fluids. In the same way, fruit juices also play an important role in softening up the skin.
  • Several home remedies such as face packs consisting of rose water, almond oil, honey, olive oil and even beaten curd could be use to make the skin smarter.
  • Daily massage or a facial sauna could create real magic in the skin.
  • Always use mild or a fragrance free soap for the charming look.
  • Application of aloe vera gel, cod liver oil or vitamin E oil is very effective.
  • Blend two tablespoon honey with two tablespoon milk to make a paste. Apply over the face as well as the throat and let it remain for ten minutes. Wash it off with warm water.
  • Make a paste out of mashed apricot and warm olive oil. Apply over the face and leave for about ten minutes and then wash with water.
  • After a shower it is always advised to use baby oil or Vaseline all over for that greasy like feeling.
  • For dreadfully dry skin, use evening prim rose oil by taking about three-four milligrams per day. It takes about two weeks to show the end result.
